If money allows and you have cities with airports, flying is the best option between cities in Vietnam. Especially so if you are short on time. Buses are uncomfortable and driving can be dangerous in Vietnam. Trains can be dirty and old. Buses or private cars are okay for short distances (like between Hoi An, Danang, Hue - 3 hours or less), but if you are traveling further - I would coordinate flying between Saigon, Danang, Hanoi, etc. and then take a bus or car between the smaller cities. The flight from Hanoi to Danang is maybe 1.5 hours. You'll arrive not totally fried from travel and can book a driver to take you on a tour to the marble mountains, which has scenic stops on the way. Usually a half day is good enough, but you can take as much or little time as you want to tour the sites with your driver. 9 months ago
