Edinburgh is a beautiful city with lots of pubs (including a literary pub crawl) and great restaurants. Glencoe is very beautiful and you can see where the MacDonalds were massacred by the Campbells. If you're heading up to Inverness you can see Culloden, the battlefield where the Jacobites where defeated, and you can learn about the subsequent repression of Highland culture by the English. There are Highland games going on and if you can find a calendar here shga.co.uk over 5 years ago
