Best way to travel in Bali with a 2 Year Old

Hey, Bali is a great place to enjoy with young children because the Balinese love children. If you haven't travelled overseas with your kids before, Bali is a pretty good starting point. When we did it with ours, we found most accommodation places are able to provide drivers either for day trips, and do drop offs or pick ups from restaurants or temples. We based ourselves in Ubud back then. Now our children are older, we're heading back there next week and hiring a car. It really depends where on the island you'll be located: Kuta and the souther strip can be pretty busy, but the rest of the island is idyllic. Hope that helps and have a great time there. about 4 years ago

What are the most sacred places to visit in Egypt outside of Cario?

Well, I'd recommend a fantastic temple complex about 3hrs drive north of Luxor called Abydos. But right now it's probably off limits given the current security situation. In fact, I'd avoid Egypt entirely at the moment about 4 years ago

Hi, I'm going to Nepal in October and I'like to know if the Insurance covers for search and rescue in case one gets lost. Thanks a lot

Well Jazzmanblues, nice to hear your expertise. How many people have you repatriated from around the world eh? Having seen far more tragedies than I wish I ever had to, people who say insurance isn't worth it don't know shit. about 4 years ago

    Tour advice for Vietnam newbies?

My suggestion would be to head down to the Cholon bus station and head to Mytho & Cantho in the Mekong Delta. More tourists these days but still a little off the beaten track and a beautiful area. about 4 years ago

    High Altitude Travel Insurance

Ahem, you don't trek above 5,000m - that's called climbing and the risks are high. You might try the British Mountaineering Council as they have specialist insurance for this purpose. And anyway, there's usually not much you can do at that altitude since helicopters don't fly above 6000m max anyway. about 4 years ago

Are taxis in Denpasar Airport operational 24/7?

You can always get taxis on arrival, but a better experience is usually to get your hotel to arrange a pickup. Price is usually cheaper and it's just so much easier to be greeted by someone on arrival with your name on a card and be whisked off to your hotel. Particularly at midnight. Exchange probably won't be open but there is an ATM. Lastly, if you are going to get a visa on arrival, that can be time consuming as most other people have the same idea. Better is to again arrange to meet someone in advance who'll organize this all speedily for you. Bali is a wonderful island and the people delightful. about 4 years ago
