7 Day Road Trip New Zealand in a Campervan. Must do's, places to see and eat?!

Noooooooo! Don't even think about a camper van, unreliable, expensive and a huge pain in the a***e. By far the best way is to have a car and stay at motels, these can be booked ahead or you can take pot luck and turn up. Use trip advisor to pick your favourite. You need some careful planning to get anywhere in 7 days. To do the South Island you need at least two weeks. about 3 years ago

Planning a first time trip to NZ. What are the must see places/things to see?

First thing, don't do it by camper van, hire a car and stay in motels/hotels. Lots of reasons for this but basically the costs are around the same using a car. Use Emirates and Fly into Auckland out of Christchurch . Research you trip on various forums and find motels on Tripadvisor. Auckland to bay of islands, coromandel, rotorua and work way down to Wellington for ferry south to picton. Several ways to go here, look at map and work way down to fox glacier, wanaka and queenstown - trip to doubtful sound (much better than Milford) and then Christchurch via Dunedin. Take train across and then back to greymouth. Then home. almost 4 years ago

What to see in Halong Bay, Vietnam

Yes, easy. Go on a tour boat from the jetty, the trips are easy to find and all are reasonable as there is a lot of competition. The trick is finding one that goes the little bit further and off the usual trail, don't bother with caves or stopping for lunch or coffee, they are usually paid to stop. Try tripadvisor and search others experiences. Other than the bay there is not much else. over 5 years ago
