Has anybody travelled north from Singapore to Thailand and then across to Cambodia overland? What's the best option, bus? Much appreciated.

I am a Singaporean working in Songkhla. There had not been any terrorist attacks, bombings, whatever during my. 2-year stay in Songkhla. The bombings in Hatyai were in 2005. Since my move here, I had not received any government-issued travel warnings. If you take the northbound train from S'pore, you will need to change trains in KL. Aim for night train as it's a very pleasant ride. So far i've done up to Bangkok, you may wish to check on the Thai Rail website for details. over 7 years ago

    footwear for hikes in Borneo

I did Mt Kinabalu in 2008 and will be doing again this April. Don't bother with expensive trekking boots. You can buy "kampong Addidas" (they are actually black rubber shoes worn by the guides) for about M$6 from the local wet market in town. Reason being it always rain on the descent (could be the condensation) and boots get rain-soaked and becomes very heavy. over 7 years ago

What is the best massage or spa in hatyai or songkhla?

I assume you are talking about Songkhla as a province rather than Songkhla as a district cos Songkhla and Hatyai are districts of Songkhla province). In Songkhla district, you can find some really good, clean (no sex) massage places at Sinsuda road costing about TH150 -200/hour. about 7 years ago
