Looking for an exotic paradise beach destination in Brazil. Where to go?

A friend of our kept on raving about Buzios near Rio. We ahven't been there but it is rated as a top destination on TripAdvisor. http://bit.ly/SGWbw8 "If there’s a "beach economy," Buzios is its Wall Street. Its more than 20 beaches, world-class galleries, clubs and boutiques draw an elite set of travelers. Surfers love Geriba Beach, snorkelers enjoy Ferruda, hip Ossos Beach offers upscale beachside cafes and laid-back Ilhabela Beach offers a more down-to-earth Buzios experience." -TripAdvisor http://bit.ly/SGWbw8 over 5 years ago

Our family would like to take an African Safari in Kenya and visit the Masai Mara village f Can someone recommend a travel or tour company?

We booked our trip direct without a travel or tour company. We booked with Kicheche Masai Mara camp. We booked the domestic flights from Nairobi out to Masai Mara through Air Kenya. They have a website where you can purchase tickets. (Although they never seemed to pick up on the phone numbers they published.) If you're interested, we wrote about our experience on our travel blog. If you have questions after reading it let us know! bit.ly/KpmGmy over 5 years ago

What is name of a good guide company to use while in Machu Picchu

We stayed at a pretty good hostel, and we just asked them to hook us up. The hostel's reputation is on the line too, so they wouldn't recommend you anyone bad. It's cheaper than going with the company. We didn't have our guide's information, but it ended up he guides for the big guide company anyway, and free lance for the hostel. So this may be something you want to look into. (www.onthegroundtravel.com) about 6 years ago

Can anyone give me some advise on whether to use USD or Vietnam Dong? Which is better?

When we were in Vietnam a month ago, we use Dong. Unlike Cambodia where everyone quotes everything in USD, in Vietnam, Dong is still the primary currency. over 6 years ago

I've heard about severe thief problems all around Perù...is that true?

We stayed all over Peru for about 14 days (big towns and small villages), and never had anything stolen from us. Just exercise caution when you walk around town like you would when you travel to any city in the world. Our trip report here if you are interested: http://bit.ly/vZDOBd over 6 years ago

Any tips on amazon tours in South Peru/Manau?

We also spent 4 days in the jungle. We booked everything in advance, so not sure if the price will be cheaper once you are there. Our trip reports are here if you are interested: - Iquitos and the Belen Market: http://bit.ly/qpwLs0 - Amazon Jungle: http://bit.ly/oFvTcS over 6 years ago

(Aside from Machu Picchu...) best adventures in Peru?

We loved the Amazon jungle. We flew into Lima, then Iquitos, and then took a speed boat on the Amazon River for ~2hrs to get to our lodge. There are many lodges closer by, but we felt if we were going to the jungle, we want a more authentic (not touristy) neighborhood and see the virgin forest.
