I have 10 days to spend between Siem Reap and Kuala Lumpur. Should I split the time equally or spend 4 days at one and 6 at the other?

Hope you had a good time! I think you were wise to skip KL. I'm in Siem Reap now, and it is great, and I spent a month in Chiang Mai over Christmas. Good places! :-) If you have any advice to share, it would be welcome, Got4Boyz. over 5 years ago

do i need a tourist visa im travelling to thialand, vietnman and camboia, and how do i get them. thankyou, if anyone can tell me.

Thailand and Cambodia (and Laos, don't miss this great country!) have visas on arrival by air and at some land borders (I'm in Cambodia as I write this and the cost was $20 US plus a photo). They are all 30 days for nationals from most western countries, with various rules for extensions. There are bank machines at the airport (and in town) in Cambodia which dispense US funds. Vietnam is tricker, and the rules change all the time. Best to get it in advance, either in your home country or in some (not all) cities in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. over 5 years ago

Looking for suggestions from Cape Town local

I was in Cape Town in July 2012 and received a lot of restaurant advice, which I've compiled here : http://traveleater.wordpress.com/south-africa-cape-town-restaurant-advice/ For activities, I would recommend: wandering around the V&A waterfront (great restos there!), Table Mountain, a winery tour (eg Stellenbosch), and a trip to Cape Point with a stop to see the penguins. over 5 years ago

    Travel vaccines in Chiang Mai

There is a Facebook page called " I (heart) Chiang Mai" where there are a lot of these types of discussions. I remember a conversation a couple months ago that someone said you could get vaccinations from one of the hospitals. The person was looking for rabies, and it was possible. I assume for the others as well. You could ask on the FB page, or contact one of the hospitals. over 5 years ago

Long-term stay neighbourhood in Chiang Mai?

Just to note : I stayed in the Nimman area, between the old city and Chiang Mai university. Nice neighborhood, lots of caf├ęs with free wifi, but I didn't love the roaring of the planes overhead as they left the airport. Next time I will stay south of the old city - close to everything (especially my favourite smoothie lady, Mrs Pa, and my favourite banana pancake lady at the Saturday Walking Street), not overly touristy (like the eastern part of the moat), and minimal aircraft noise. I'll put a post on TravelEater.wordpress.com soon on this. over 5 years ago

Visa on arrival in Laos - onward ticket needed?

Just to note - I was not asked at customs for proof of onward travel (though I did have it!), just for the number of days I planned to stay. over 5 years ago

Where is a good place to see dolphins close to Sydney?

Hi Katrina I saw lots of dolphins on a trip to Jervis Bay ... plus the whitest sand in the world! I think it would be a long day trip from Sydney though. Hope all is well! Johanna over 5 years ago
