Spending one night in Vancouver in Sept. Would like recommendation for an inexpensive, conveniently located lodging & 1 or 2 sights to see.

Vancouver is a great city to wander around in, and, with their great new street food culture you can eat awesome food for relatively cheap.. I've written them up here: http://traveleater.wordpress.com/vancouver-street-food/ Also great in Vancouver is killer whale watching (from Granville Island, 15 min from downtown). You can't miss Stanley Park - beautiful for walking, running or biking. Take a walk on the sea wall around False Creek. Lots of great museums and galleries, especially for Aboriginal art. Accommodation: choose something downtown, in the West End, Yaletown ir Davie Village, or in South Granville or Kitsalano for most convenience. M about 8 years ago

What's fun to do in Cozumel?

Scuba diving and snorkeling. Fantastic sites here, including a plane that was sunk for a James Bond film. about 8 years ago

I am headed to Freeport Maine on vacation. What are some fun things to do?

Shop and eat .... Not much more really. There is a great Turkish restaurant in Freeport, calling itself Mediterranean Grill or something. It is the best food you can get here, and almostbthe only place where you can get something that is NOT fried! about 8 years ago

We have about 2 weeks in Laos. Any recommendations?

Spend as much time as you can in Luang Prabang. It is a great little town, beautiful to walk in, and the eating is incredible. Make sure you eat some of the street food, and at lunch time seek out the banh mi sandwich ladies. I replicate their sandwiches at home now! We had an incredible meal at the 3 Nagas restaurant, butbi hear it has gone a bit downhill. We also went on the elephant ride outside LP and it was great - I got to sit on the elephant's head and be the mahout. Lao massage is excellent in LP. The night market has the most amazing textiles - leave room in your suitcase. I've heard theft is common at the swimming holes, waterfalls, etc so be careful. about 8 years ago

What is the best hotel you can stay in Siam Reap?

Agree with C. Noble. Raffles is considered the "best" and it is beautiful and the service great, but it is a little cold. But try a boutique hotel for all the comforts you want, but also experience some of the other aspects of Siem Reap - shop in the market, eat some street food, etc. about 8 years ago
