Are there any technical High schools or culinary arts high schools in Dallas?

I have volunteered at the Ben Barber Career and Technology center in Mansfield, Texas, which is part of the Dallas/Ft. worth area. Google it and see what you think. I hope to work there some day. over 6 years ago

How dangerous is the crime in Peru?

When I stayed with a family in Lima, I was constantly guarded and warned while traveling the city, even by strangers. Snapping pictures out of a train window, even in cusco, could result it a snatched camera. Keep your eyes open, be cautious, and enjoy the trip. I loved it. over 6 years ago

What is the best way to acclimatise to the high altitudes of the Andes. Especially if you are flying straight in?

I agree. I succumb to chills and shakes on what I think was my 3rd day in Cusco. I was provided oxygen and felt fine after a little while. I was otherwise healthy and handled the climbs well. So, caution is best because it can sneak. The coca leaves are available in a candy, also. over 6 years ago

What is the cheapest way to go to Machu Picchu?

If you have a hotel in Cusco, your host may know of a trustworthy agent in the town that offers a package tour of cusco itself, being very historical, and trips to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. I think I paid 350 for a weeks worth of touring around and didn't feel rushed. Student discount became available and I was refunded some money. over 6 years ago

Is everything still safe to eat in South Korea?

I agree about the chillies! My girlfriend's family slipped the into my meal, much to my digestion's dismay. Also, some insects are commonly eaten as finger food and may appear to be pecan. Just saying. over 6 years ago

What can I eat in Japan?

If in Osaka, I recommend trying the various takoyaki joints. If you see someone poking little balls of batter with a toothpick, it's probably takoyaki. Very tasty and cheap. I believe that the region is known for it. over 6 years ago

We'd like your suggestions about going to Machu Pichu, Peru. Places to stay? Foods? Time of year? Trekking companies?

I had an amazing stay at a custom built, walled-in hotel called Villa Pachatusan | www.peru-hotel.net/villa_pachatusan.htm | hosts will need to drive you into town and will work with a tour agency for you. They are friends of people I knew in the US and I trust them. over 6 years ago
